• Mayor Villaraigosa led the passage of the county's largest investment in public transit in a generation, with a $40 billion strategic roadmap to expand subway and light rail service, modernize freeways, and synchronize traffic signals countywide.
• He banned road construction during rush hour, optimized synchronized traffic signals on the city's busiest streets and deployed gridlock tiger teams.
• Villaraigosa launched a $5 billion dollar plan to expand housing for middle class families and created the Los Angeles Foreclosure Response Network which provides housing assistance services in communities hardest-hit by the foreclosure crisis.
